Installation Instructions for Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles

Materials Needed:

• Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles
• Sharp utility knife
• Measuring tape
• Edge pieces (optional)
• Vacuum

Steps:

1. Prepare the Subfloor:

   • Ensure the subfloor is clean, dry, and free of dirt, dust, grease, or any other debris.

2. Start Installation:

   • Begin in the front left corner of the room.
   • Make sure the female side (loops) of the tile is facing away from the wall.

3. Lay the Tiles:

   • Fill the left wall with tiles, then proceed to fill the adjacent wall.
   • Continue to place whole tiles across the floor area.

4. Trim Tiles:

   • When you reach walls or obstacles, measure the area and cut the tiles using a sharp utility knife.
   • Leave a 3/4” space between the tiles and the wall or obstruction to allow for expansion.

5. Finish Installation:

   • After placing all the tiles, snap in the edge pieces if you have them.

6. Clean Up:

   • Vacuum any loose dust, dirt, or debris from the tiles.

Care and Maintenance for Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles

1. Regular Cleaning:

   • Sweep or vacuum the tiles regularly to remove dirt and debris.
   • For deeper cleaning, use a damp mop with mild detergent.

2. Stain Removal:

   • For stubborn stains, use a soft brush and a mixture of warm water and mild detergent.
   • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning tools that could damage the tiles.

3. Preventative Maintenance:

   • Place doormats at entry points to reduce the amount of dirt and debris tracked onto the tiles.
   • Use furniture pads to prevent scratches and damage from heavy furniture.

4. UV Protection:

   • Although the tiles are UV stable, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading. Consider using shade or protective covers in outdoor areas to maintain color vibrancy.

5. Winter Care:

   • In colder climates, snow and ice can accumulate on the tiles. Use a plastic shovel to remove snow, avoiding metal shovels that can scratch the surface.

6. Mold & Mildew Prevention:

   • Regularly inspect the tiles for signs of mold or mildew, especially in damp environments.
   • Clean any affected areas with a mixture of water and vinegar or a mild mold remover.

7. Repairs and Replacement:

   • Periodically check for any damaged or loose tiles and replace them promptly to prevent accidents.
   • Since the tiles interlock, replacing a single tile is simple and doesn’t require removing the entire floor.
