- Ensure the subfloor is clean, dry, and free of debris.
Layout:
- Plan the layout of the tiles before starting the installation. Begin from the center of the room and work outward for an even appearance.
Cutting Tiles:
- Use a utility knife to trim tiles to fit around edges and corners. Measure carefully for a precise fit.
Installation:
- Place the tiles snugly against each other without gaps. Nitro Tiles are designed to interlock securely, so no adhesives are necessary.
- For stability, you can use double-sided tape along the perimeter if desired.
Finishing Touches:
- Walk over the tiles after installation to ensure they are locked into place.
Maintenance
Care and Maintenance
Regular Cleaning:
- Sweep or vacuum any loose crumbs, dust, or debris from the tiles as needed.
- Occasionally damp mop the tiles with a mild soap and water mixture. Common soaps include Dawn dish detergent or Tide laundry detergent.
Protecting the Surface:
- Each tile is coated with a protectant silicone sealant. Scuffs or scratches may occur during installation or when moving large objects. To reduce the appearance of scratches, consider using Armstrong’s Shine Keeper.
Stain Management:
- Flex Nitro Tiles are not stain-proof. Street tar can stain light-colored tiles but can often be removed with a cleaner called Purple Power.
- If you have performance tires, they may stain light-colored tiles. To address tire marks, you may need to replace the affected tiles or use darker tiles to disguise the stains. If stains persist, please contact Customer Service at 800-613-0996 for assistance.
