Installation
Installation Instructions for Indoor Basketball Court Tiles
Preparation
- Surface Cleaning:
- Ensure the subfloor is clean, dry, and free of debris, grease, oil, and other contaminants.
- Subfloor Suitability:
- Suitable for installation over concrete, wood, or any hard, flat surface.
- Acclimatization:
- Allow the Indoor Sports Tiles to acclimate in the installation area for at least 24 hours at room temperature.
Installation
- Planning Layout:
- Lay out the tiles in the desired pattern before snapping them together to ensure you are satisfied with the design.
- If using multiple colors, plan your pattern ahead of time to avoid mistakes.
- Underlayment (Optional):
- If additional shock absorbency is desired, lay a rubber underlayment on the subfloor before installing the tiles.
- Connecting Tiles:
- Begin installation from one corner of the room and work your way out.
- Align the tiles so that the tabs of one tile fit into the loops of the next tile.
- Gently press down until you hear a click, indicating the tiles are locked together.
- Cutting to Fit:
- Trim the tiles to fit around edges and corners using a utility knife and straight edge.
- Leave a small gap (approximately 1/4 inch) around the edges to allow for expansion and contraction.
Customization
- Painting Lines:
- After the tiles are installed, you can paint lines or other markings to create custom courts.
- Use a suitable paint for polypropylene surfaces and allow it to dry completely before use.
Post-Installation
- Inspection:
- Inspect the installation to ensure all tiles are securely locked together and edges are properly trimmed.
- Initial Cleaning:
- Clean the floor with a mild soap and water solution to remove any installation debris.
